Privacy Policy Title
Virginia Farm Bureau has a strong tradition of protecting the privacy of our customers. We have internal procedures in place to protect your personal information. Because we value our customer relationship with you, we do not sell customer information or share it with organizations outside our Farm Bureau family of companies* for their own marketing purposes. This notice explains our information practices and is required of financial institutions such as ours by state and federal law. As required by law, we will provide you with our Privacy Policy the first time we do business, when we issue your new policy and at least annually thereafter.

Information Title
We collect and use information necessary to service your insurance needs and to comply with legal and regulatory requirements. This information varies depending on the products or services you request from us, but may include:
  • Information we obtain from you on your application or other forms (such as name, address, social security number and financial and health information);
  • Information we obtain from third parties (such as motor vehicle reports from the Department of Motor Vehicles and credit reports from consumer reporting agencies);
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others (including payment history or account balances); and
  • Information we are authorized or required by law to collect
    (such as medical records in a workers compensation case)
You have the right to obtain access to certain information we have collected about you and have the further right to request correction of information if you feel it is inaccurate.

How We Use Information Title

We use customer information to underwrite your policies, process your claims, ensure proper billing, service your accounts, and offer you other Farm Bureau products that we believe may suit your needs.

Information We Share Title

We share information about you within our Farm Bureau family of companies and with organizations outside our family of companies.

We do:
  • Share personal information about your account history (such as payment history) and experiences with us (such as loss history) within our Farm Bureau family of companies and with Farm Bureau agents in order to better serve you and to assist us in meeting your current product and service needs.
  • Share personal information about you, without your prior permission, with organizations outside our family of companies
    as permitted or required by law. This includes companies who perform marketing services for us or with whom we have joint marketing agreements.
We do not:
  • Sell or provide personal information to persons or organizations outside our family of companies who are doing business on our behalf, for their own marketing purposes.
  • Share personal information about former customers with organizations outside our family of companies except in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Security of Your Info Title
The security of customer information is very important to us and we take a number of steps to safeguard it. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with state and federal standards to guard non-public personal information about you. We limit access to personal and account information to those employees and agents who assist us in providing products and services to you. Employees who fail to follow our established standards are subject to disciplinary action. We also require third parties to whom we disclose nonpublic personal information to limit their use of the information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy and to establish information security procedures.
